Buying a used car in Wrexham
What to look for, what a dealer must tell you, and how a reservation works — from a Wrexham dealer that publishes its own check sheet.

Ask who checked it
Most dealers say a car has been inspected. Ask by whom. A check done by the dealer's own workshop, on the dealer's own ramps, is a check the dealer is accountable for. A certificate from a third party the dealer pays is a piece of paper.

What a dealer must tell you
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 a car must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. A dealer is not liable for a fault that was specifically drawn to your attention before you bought — which is precisely why we declare every fault we know about, in writing, with a photograph. It protects you, and it protects us.
Why the price has no VAT on it
Most used cars are sold under the VAT margin scheme: VAT is paid by the dealer on their margin, not charged to you on the price. So the price you see is the price, with nothing to add. There are no admin fees at ONECARS either.
Holding a car while you decide
A reservation is £100 and holds the car for fourteen days — nobody else can buy it. Inside those fourteen days you can cancel for any reason and the £100 comes back in full. If you buy, it comes off the price. A reservation is not a contract to buy; that is made separately, at the forecourt or on a signed order form.
